The City of Peterborough is looking to hire an Usher/Ticket Taker to join their team.
Under the supervision of the Event Services Supervisor, the Usher/Ticket Taker will perform a variety of customer based service functions within the Peterborough Memorial Centre. These duties include collecting and verifying tickets, directing and assisting patrons, ensuring crowd control, conducting work in a welcoming and friendly manner, while maintaining a positive attitude and working safely in accordance to the OHSA.
We require individuals who have a minimum Grade 10 education or equivalent and who have excellent verbal communication skills, strong customer service focus and sound problem-solving skills. Must be accurate and detail oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a multitude of tasks. Candidates must have customer service experience and knowledge of event services and the affiliated roles & responsibilities Strong knowledge of Alcohol Control Policies in event driven industry is an asset along with current First Aid and CPR certification.
Candidates must have the ability to perform the physical demands of this position (standing, climbing stairs etc.). Successful candidates will be required to provide a current criminal reference check, as a condition of employment offer. The check will be completed at the candidate’s own expense and must be current.
The position requires flexible availability with hours involving evenings, weekends and holidays to a maximum of 24 hours per week.
