The City of Peterborough is looking to hire a Public Skate Monitor to join their team.
The Public Skate Monitor will provide all on ice supervision for public skating and holiday skating programs at the Kinsmen, Healthy Planet and/or Memorial Centre Arena.
Responsibilities include assisting public skaters to ensure their safe enjoyment of the activity while maintaining safety standards applicable to ice, informing users of the rules and reporting infractions to the full-time staff on duty.
We require individuals who have completed Grade 10 and have current and valid Standard First Aid CPR and AED certification. The successful applicant will have good customer service skills with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to handle conflict in addition to the ability to work in a team environment and independently. This position also requires the ability to skate in a controlled manner with confidence. This position has occasional exposure to the elements, hazardous conditions and materials, including a cold work environment.
Successful candidates will also be required to provide a current criminal reference check with vulnerable sector check, as a condition of employment offer. The check will be completed at the candidates own expense. Additional uniform components will be provided to successful candidates. This position will work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays to a maximum of 24 hours per week.
Hourly Rate: $15.00
